Oh My K-Drama

I have spent the past two days finding out just why the K-Drama world is so obsessed about. But why they gotta be so extra, though? I mean, one flyer makes its way through the wind and lands right on her face and the next thing you know, super sexy man is has caught her in a super sexy dip like she would've died otherwise. How you gon' let a piece of paper take you down? If you were a boxer, you'd be paperweight instead of featherweight. My complaints aside of the over theatricality of it all, I do admit it's one of my favorite things about it. If they pulled the same kind of cheesiness in an American show, it would be a Lifetime or hallmark movie, and I would write it off completely. But with Korean dramas, I just find it endearing.

My first experience with it was with Oh My Venus. It was rated one of the more popular shows from 2015 and, though I was skeptical about it at first, I was enthralled all the way through. I even skipped my last two classes to finish up the sixteen episode season and I am regretting it because I'me completely shattered that it is over now (if there is anyone in the OMV sphere reading this, please make plans for season two with the babies). I mean, my ass was cringing when she had her waist trainer-sorry, corset- ripped from her by sexy John Kim; my toes were curling on episode five when they started Jujitsu; I was having heart palpitations when crazy murderous Choi fucked up my man (one of the reasons I stray from dramas in its entirety is because of the anxiety I have with evil characters like that; like, with Mojo Jojo, I knew that though he would be messing stuff up, he would still lose come the end of the episode); my ass was rejoicing when for a second miracle, Mr. Coach was able to walk again; I was then balling and super excited when he proposed (and BTW was that not the smoothest and most original proposals you have ever seen? I mean, DAMMMNNN, I want a scarf); I was lol-ing at Ma'am's historical drama scene and her karaoke; and I was so goddamn pleased at the ending.

Anyway, to make it short, if you're going to watch K-Dramas, just mentally prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster. Now if you will excuse me, I must stop my updates to go watch some more. And remember to keep on FIGHTING!

Sidenote: I was so warped up in the Venus world that I forgot it wasn't my first, but second K-Drama, the first being Noble, My Love, also starring Hygun from OMV and also an equally good show.
